Course Guide

Our original course, now known as the Forest Course and understood to be the oldest in Hampshire, was built by local resident and landowner, Philip de Crespigny, for the entertainment of his weekend guests in about 1865. With its open aspects and rolling heathland, it is in complete contrast to the Manor Course but equally as magnificent. It was recently ranked as the 21st best course under £35 in GB&I.

The roaming ponies and deer add to the charm of the Forest Course, and many prefer to play it for its beauty and old-fashioned test of golfing skills. The prospect of a deer emerging from the trees or a mare and her foal on the fairway gives the Forest Course a special and unique appeal.

The ever-changing scenery of humps, hollows and meandering streams test golfing skills and, with the added quirky charm of New Forest deer, ponies and pigs roaming the fairways, your round is bound to be one which will be preserved in your memory for years to come.

Course Guide

The Manor Course was opened in 1971. Set amidst the beautiful New Forest in a landscaped parkland of mature trees and 200 year old hardwood plantations, it is widely acknowledged to be amongst the finest and testing courses in the South of England. It is gently undulating, with excellent fairways and greens, and is a stern test for golfers of all abilities. Good shot selection is essential to shooting a good score!

Like the Forest Course, there is an abundance of natural beauty and wildlife on the course. From the “winterbourne” Shepherds Gutter running through the heart of the course, to the ancient woodlands of Popes. Visitors may see deer, guinea fowl and the occasional peacock crossing from the neighbouring estates, Nuthatches hopping in the trees, and our very own Bramshaw Bees buzzing around the wild flowers.

Check out our sister course at Paultons Golf Centre – nestling in the heart of leafy Hampshire it is a paradise for golfers that offers a great day out for society golfing. It is also the home of the Georgia Hall Academy.
